The institute was established in 1993 with intake
capacity of 152 trainees now it has the capacity of 128 seats
of trainees. In the pace of development of India the institute
will be playing a major role in supplying skilled man power
to state and the country. The institute impartes training in
different vocational job oriented courses and Sanand being near
to Ahmedabad is one of the technical institute which will be
of prime importance for the next 10 years.
Out of 1896 govt ITIs in the country 500 govt
ITIs are being upgraded into centre of excellence under scheme
started from 2005-06. In the budget speech 2007-08 honorable
union finance minister announced up gradation of remaining
1396 govt ITIs into CoE through Public Private Partnership.
Accordingly this scheme we have got 2.5 crore interest free
loan from central govt. So as per the above scheme a partnership
has been done with Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd,
Ahmedabad.
The institute is imparting training in four
trades under the NCVT pattern as well as short term training
courses. The institute is functioning in three shifts commencing
from 7.20 A.M. to 9.00 P.M.
